How a call works

Three models, one conversation

Every turn of a call runs through the same three steps. Because we build all three, we can tune them to work together instead of gluing other companies' APIs end to end.

1 · SPEECH TO TEXT

The agent listens

Phone audio is narrow and noisy. Our speech recognition is trained on calls, not podcasts, so it copes with speakerphones, traffic in the background and people who talk fast. It also spots when the caller has finished speaking, which is what stops an agent from cutting people off.

2 · LANGUAGE MODEL

The agent decides

The language model reads the transcript against your script, your FAQs and your rules. It can look up an order, check a calendar or log a lead, and it knows which topics it must hand to a person. It does not improvise policy you have not given it.

3 · TEXT TO SPEECH

The agent answers

The reply is spoken in a clear, warm voice that starts talking while the rest of the sentence is still being generated. Short gaps matter on the phone. A two-second silence feels like a dropped call, so we keep the whole loop fast.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What is an AI voice agent?

An AI voice agent is software that holds a phone conversation. It turns the caller's speech into text, works out what they want and what to do about it, then answers out loud in a synthetic voice. Unlike a phone menu, the caller can just say what they need in their own words.

Will callers know they are talking to an AI?

They should, and we set agents up to say so at the start of the call. Being upfront avoids complaints, and the rules on AI calling keep tightening. In our experience most callers care far more about getting their problem solved quickly than about who solves it.

Can the agent hand a call to a person?

Yes. You decide the triggers: a caller asks for a human, the topic is outside the agent's scope, or the caller sounds upset. The agent transfers the call and passes along a short summary so your staff don't have to ask the same questions again.

Do you use OpenAI or other third-party models?

No. Speech recognition, the language model and the text-to-speech voice are models we train and run ourselves. That is why we can offer a free trial of each one on its own: you can check accuracy before you trust it with customers.

What does the free trial include?

Three days, 30 AI chat messages, 10 transcriptions and 10 generated voice clips, in the browser or through the API. It is deliberately small. The point is to test our accuracy on your own audio and text, not to run production traffic.

Which phone systems do your agents work with?

Agents connect over SIP or through call forwarding from a number you already own, which covers most cloud phone systems and on-premise PBXs. Tell us what you run and we will confirm before you commit to anything.

Can AI agents make outbound sales calls legally?

They can, with the right consent. In February 2024 the FCC confirmed that AI-generated voices count as "artificial" voices under the TCPA, so the consent rules for prerecorded calls apply. We help you set up consent records, calling windows and Do Not Call checks before any campaign goes out. This is not legal advice; talk to your counsel about your specific lists.

How is Voxvencer priced?

Pricing depends on the agent, your call volume and which systems we connect to. Most customers start with one agent on one line. Contact sales with your rough monthly call count and we will send a quote.
